JENNIFER HARMON, MS, RDH
Jennifer Harmon is an Associate Professor in the Department of Periodontology,
Endodontics, and Dental Hygiene at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Adams
School of Dentistry. As a triple Tar Heel, she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Exercise and
Sport Science, Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene, and Master of Science in Dental
Hygiene Education, all from UNC-Chapel Hill.
In her current role, Jennifer teaches both undergraduate and graduate dental hygiene
students, as well as those in the pre-doctoral curricula. Her teaching focuses on clinical
excellence and psychomotor skill development. Jennifer has a distinguished record of
service, having served as President of the North Carolina Dental Hygienists’ Association and
the Supreme Chapter of Sigma Phi Alpha.
She remains an active member of the American Dental Hygienists’ Association and the American Dental Education Association.
Recognized with numerous faculty appreciation awards, Jennifer was recently named
an Honorary Professor for Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society.
She has published in several peer-reviewed journals such as the Journal of Dental Education
and Journal of Dental Hygiene.
Professor Winterberry holds Bachelor’s degrees in Dental Hygiene and Nursing, and a Master’s degree in Dental Hygiene from the University of Texas Health Sciences Center in San Antonio.
Currently, she is the Program Director of Dental Hygiene and a Nursing Instructor at Pensacola State College.
She has taught a wide array of courses, including Oral Pathology, Pharmacology and Dental Office Emergencies, Dental Public Health, Ethics, and Dental Hygiene Lecture and Clinic.
In recognition of her excellence in teaching, Professor Winterberry was inducted into the Academy of Teaching Excellence in 2010 and awarded the Margaret Moore Nickelsen Endowed Teaching Chair for Health Sciences.
Additionally in 2023, she received the Special Olympics Florida Nancy Sawyer Health Access Award
Serves on the Florida Dental Hygienists Association Board of Trustees as the Northwest Florida District Trustee.
She is also a Clinical Director for two Special Olympics Florida programs: Special Smiles and Health Promotions.
Pursuing an additional advanced degree in education and plans to engage in medical and dental mission work during the summers.
She has extensive clinical experience as a dental hygienist in private practice, military, and federal correctional facilities.
Her diverse background as a clinician, educator, and registered nurse provides her students with invaluable resources and opportunities for mentorship.
JEN WILLIAMSON, MS, BSDH
University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Dental Hygiene.
Also a degree in Biology with minor in Chemistry.
In 2022 Jen completed her Master of Science degree in Human Relations and Business with an emphasis in Adult Education.
She is currently an adjunct instructor for the Community College of Denver Dental Hygiene Bachelor Completion program.
Works private practice and was recently awarded the 2023 Dental Hygiene Alum of the Year from the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry.
Jen currently lives in Castle Rock, Colorado. Despite her busy professional career, she takes pleasure in spending time with her husband Steve, their children (Cooper, Chloe, Camden, Jake, and Haley) and their 3 dogs. She enjoys snow skiing, golfing, yoga and traveling.
