Dr. Tammy S. Clossen, R.D.H., PHD
Tammy S. Clossen, R.D.H., PhD graduated from Pennsylvania College of Technology with Associate of Applied Science in Dental Hygiene in 1992. Returned to complete Bachelor of Science Health Policy & Administration in Dental Hygiene from Pennsylvania College of Technology in 1996 and continued to work in private practice. Completed Master of Science in Workforce Education & Development with an emphasis in Human Resource & Development in 1998 from the Pennsylvania State University and continued directly into doctoral program with her masters Thesis “An investigation into the retention of dental hygienists in the workforce in the commonwealth of Pennsylvania,” completing the doctoral program in 2000 with earning her Doctor of Philosophy in Workforce and Development, emphasis in Leadership from the Pennsylvania State University.
Was a full time faculty member at Harrisburg Area Community College. Presently a full time faculty member for 20 years at Pennsylvania College of Technology, where she has taught oral histology, oral pathology, pre-clinic, clinical II, clinic III and clinic IV, dental law & ethics, preventive dentistry, radiology lab, dental materials, and nutrition.
Has been recognized in the 9th, 10th, & 11th Edition of Who’s Who Among American Teachers. Was awarded the Outstanding Woman Achievement Award in 2011.
Reviewed several textbooks for the following publishers of various dental hygiene textbooks: Lippincott, Williams & Wilkins, Evolve-Elsevier, and Pearson.
Presented continuing education courses on local anesthesia, Digital imaging, tobacco cessation.
Recently utilizing public health certification for a mobile dental health program treating children & adolescents by providing routine prophylaxis and sealants across the state of Pennsylvania during the summer.
