Tara Thompson, M.H.A., B.S., R.D.H., is from San Antonio, Texas. She received her bachelor’s degree in Nutritional Sciences at Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas, followed by her Master of Healthcare Administration degree at Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas, before going on to graduate from dental hygiene school at Coastal Bend College in Beeville, Texas. She graduated with honors from all 3 of these programs. While at Coastal Bend College, she was honored with the Colgate STAR Award which is awarded to one student in a graduating class who shows excellence and commitment to the dental hygiene profession.
Tara was passionate about caring for her patients in private practice for 10 years before she transitioned into the role of dental hygiene educator. She is currently a full-time didactic and clinical instructor at Concorde Career College in San Antonio, Texas. She is the lead instructor for Preclinical Sciences, Periodontology, Nutrition, and Senior Clinic. She also taught Office Management for several years. She finds it very rewarding to be able to help aspiring hygienists reach their goals as thriving professionals.
